Two Hall County deputies have been reprimanded after an altercation in a restaurant.
In an email statement, Hall County Sheriff's Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks said Lt. Joe Groover and Deputy Corey Gilleland, both SWAT team members, were attending the annual conference for the Georgia Tactical Officers Association in Columbus when the incident occurred.
While at a dinner on March 11, the two were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into a fist fight, according to Wilbanks.
The incident was reported to the chain of command and as a result, both Groover and Gilleland were placed on unpaid suspension, demoted and reassigned from the SWAT team.
