FLOWERY BRANCH — The Flowery Branch girls soccer team clinched the No. 1 seed from Region 8-5A on Thursday via a 5-0, storm-shortened defeat of Loganville in Flowery Branch.
The second-ranked Lady Falcons (14-0, 5-0 Region 8-5A) pulled ahead and were beginning to cruise when the game was called due to weather.
Caroline Wysocki and Larsyn Reid each scored two goals for the Branch, while Anna Grady added one strike.
Lady Falcons goalkeeper Hannah Pimentel recorded four saves to preserve the shutout.
Flowery Branch plays host to Winder-Barrow on April 10.

The Lady Red Elephants pounced on the Lady Bulldoggs for the win on Thursday at City Park.
Cindy Bonilla paced Gainesville with three goals, while Kate Bush (penalty kick), Amayia Lukie and Alondra Fuerte each scored once in the win.
The Lady Red Elephants (5-9, 4-5 Region 8-6A) play host to Chestatee on April 10.
