JEFFERSON — Trey McEver had one plate appearance Thursday night, but it proved huge for Jefferson, as McEver drilled an RBI single to hand the Dragons a 4-3 win over North Oconee in Jefferson.
Jefferson tied the score at 3-3 in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI double from Justin Cole, setting the stage for McEver's sixth-inning fireworks.
Brandon Trefren picked up the win in relief for the Dragons (9-5, 2-0 Region 8-4A), pitching 5 innings of no-hit ball while yielding one unearned run and striking out 5 batters. The Titans managed just one hit in the game.
Mason Cooper also had a double and 2 RBI for Jefferson.
The Dragons visit North Oconee at 5:55 p.m. Friday.
