Car break-in suspects strike in Gwinnett, Dawson counties

Gwinnett County Police and several other agencies are trying to identify a suspect in a series of car break-ins that stretch from Peachtree City to Dawson County.

Police officials in Gwinnett County released a series of suspect photographs Thursday, asking the public for help in identifying the man.

The man allegedly stole credit cards from the vehicles and used them to purchase gift cards.

"The car break-ins have occurred at a variety of locations, including parks, libraries and medical facilities," Sgt, Jake Smith wrote in a media release.  "The gift cards have all been purchased at grocery stores."

In the March first Dawson County case, a female person of interest was spotted with the suspect, according to Smith.  Police also said the silver SUV in one of the photographs was used in several cases.

Police asked that anyone with information in the case contact detectives at (770) 513-5300. Anonymous tipsters can contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or visit its website.  Crime Stoppers tipsters can receive up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
