SAFFT, Families First partner to improve Hall County foster care

A non-profit that assists former children in Hall County will now partner with another organization to improve their comprehensive care services.

Supporting Adoption & Foster Families Together, Inc. (SAFFT) announced Thursday they will now partner with Families First to provide comprehensive services and dedicated foster homes in Hall County.

Terry Tucker, CEO of Families First said this model of care will help keep Hall County foster children in Hall County. “This creates less disruption for the kids and allows for family reunification when possible,” said Tucker.

The pairing will create a wrap-around service model that covers prevention, intervention and aftercare for Georgia families in crisis and youth in foster care. A Families First recruiter and case manager at the SAFFT Family Restoration Center to help recruit, approve and train foster families. When the new foster homes are established, they will exclusively serve Hall County youth, limiting disruptions to the foster child’s life and insuring children receive services in the home.

“We are excited to partner with Families First,” said Brian Anderson, CEO of SAFFT. “We can’t do this mission alone. It truly takes a village to make an impact on caring for our most broken families and most vulnerable children. This partnership will deliver the solutions to children and families in crisis beginning in a community that is close to our hearts – Hall County.”

SAFFT reports children served by their program will, on average, spend 90 less days in foster care and less than 5% of reunified children return to foster care after completing the program.

If the Hall County program is successful, additional services will be launched in partnership with Families First in Georgia.
