By UNG Athletics Communications

FLORENCE, S.C. — Despite every Nighthawk that saw the floor getting in the scoring column, the University of North Georgia men's basketball team's season came to a close as they fell to Francis Marion in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament quarterfinals Wednesday night.

The Nighthawks and Patriots went back-and-forth early in the first half with FMU taking the lead for good with 15:17 left in the first half. UNG kept the game close, however, trailing by just 12 points at the half.

North Georgia, then, hit a cold streak coming out of the break, going over four minutes at the beginning of the half without scoring. The Patriots, however, struggled to miss shots, making all but 11 shots in the second half, en route to the quarterfinal win.

NOTES
- Tyler Dominy led the Nighthawks with 13 points, while Ephraim Tshimanga added 10. Five Patriots finished in double figures, led by Detrek Browning's 24 points.

- While the Patriots finished 12-for-13 from the free throw line, North Georgia finished only 2-for-7.

- North Georgia's season ends with a 12-17 record.
