FLOWERY BRANCH — The Flowery Branch girls basketball team took care of business on Wednesday in the Region 8-AAAAA quarterfinals at home, dispatching Johnson 83-12 in Flowery Branch.
The Lady Falcons stormed to a 30-0 first quarter lead and never looked back, leading 54-3 at the half en route to a state tournament berth and spot in the 8-AAAAA semifinals.
Caroline Wysocki paced the Branch with 20 points, while Taniyah Worth added 13 and Ashley Woodroffe 12.
The second-seeded Lady Falcons will take on No. 3 seed Cedar Shoals at 7 p.m. Friday at Johnson for a spot in the region title game.
