*The 2017 Young Man and Young Woman of the year will be named at the Gainesville Jaycees’ annual banquet set for Thursday, February 15, at 6 p.m., at the Chattahoochee Country Club. 

*North Georgia Technical College horticulture instructor Craig Thurmond was recently named 2018 Educator of the Year by the Georgia Green Industry Association.

*Next week's presentation of The Norman P. Blake Family Distinguished Speaker Series at Riverside Military Academy features Jeffrey Weiner, an alumnus of Riverside, who has been practicing criminal law since 1974. He is a former president of both the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, lectures throughout the country, is the author of numerous legal articles and is a former CNN legal analyst.

*The Forsyth County Voter Registration & Elections Office has moved into to 1201 Sawnee Drive in Cumming, next to the Forsyth County Tax Commissioner’s Office and Magistrate Court.

*The City of Suwanee is seeking proposals and samples from artists for the city’s finders-keepers art-in-nature program. Artistic proposals for this year’s program will be accepted through February 23. Guidelines and an application form are available at suwanee.com.
