Subdivisions in South Hall, Murrayville on upcoming Hall County Planning Commission agenda

By B.J. Williams

When the Hall County Planning Commission meets for the first time in 2019, the board will have three subdivision requests to consider, including one for 195 homes in the Chestnut Mountain area.

The request to rezone 58.83 acres on Union Church Road near Winder Highway from Agricultural-Residential IV (AR IV) to Planned Residential Development (PUD) was tabled in the past, but is the first item on the Jan. 7, 2019 agenda. Pulte Homes wants to build a 195-lot subdivision on the property, according to information on the agenda.

Also on the agenda is a conditional use request from Rochester & Associates, Inc. to allow for a 23-lot subdivision in Murrayville. The request indicates the company wants to build the subdivision on a 26.33-acre tract on the east side of Yellow Creek Road at its intersection with Barkers Bend Road.

Another developer, InvestNLand, LLC, will go before the planning board with a conditional use request to build a four-lot subdivision on a 4.1-acre tract on Smallwood Road at Smallwood Springs Drive, which is just off Athens Highway.

The Hall County Planning Commission meets at 5:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7 at the Hall County Government Center at 2875 Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville.
