The highly contested race for House District 28 received certification from Secretary of State Robyn Crittenden Friday for the results of the December election.
The race was fraught with ballot errors in the primary and the results separate the certified winner, former Banks County School Superintendent Chris Erwin, and Incumbent Dan Gasaway by only two votes.
According to the Secretary of State's office, Gasaway can request a recount of the race. Gasaway previously indicated he doubted the validity of two votes cast and time will tell if he requests a recount.
The district covers parts of Banks, Stephens, and Habersham counties.
