A freight train derailed in the East Hall area Sunday night but there were no injuries.
Hall County Fire Services spokesman Zachary Brackett says it occurred "in the area of Allen Lane off County Line Road" about 8:40.
"Arriving units found multiple bi- and tri-level car cargo cars that derailed from the railroad," Capt. Brackett said. "This railroad is serviced by Norfolk Southern. No injuries were reported. No hazardous materials were released."
He added Norfolk Southern is investigating and the cause of the derailment had not been determined as of 9:50 Sunday night.
"...for now County Line Road at Allen Lane is closed due to this incident. The Hall County Sheriff's Office is providing traffic control in the area."
