(UPDATE) Girls basketball: Lumpkin, Banks take North Ga. Showcase wins; Buford beats Parkview

DAHLONEGA — The Lumpkin County girls remained unbeaten after taking an impressive 55-27 win over Chestatee Saturday in the North Georgia Showcase at the University of North Georgia.

The Lady Indians (7-0) opened the game with a 16-3 first quarter and never looked back. They led 34-17 at hlftime and then held the Lady War Eagles to just 10 points in the second half.

Ashlynn Wistoski paced Lumpkin County with 18 points. Isabel Davenport added 15 points and Mackenzie Pulley 14 points for the Lady Indians. All three hit three 3-pointers during the game.

Chestatee was led by Maggie McNair's 11 points. The loss for the Lady War Eagles (4-4) snapped their three-game win streak.



The Lady Leopards started strong and held off a furious fourth quarter rally to pick up a win in the North Georgia Showcase Saturday to remain unbeaten.
Banks County (6-0) opened with a 13-5 first quarter and pushed its lead to 27-16 by halftime. The Lady Leopards led 41-29 heading into the fourth quarter.
The Lady Tigers (3-2) finally got going in the fourth quarter outscoring Banks County 21-12 but could complete the comeback.

Jaycie Bowen paced Banks County with 13 points. Heather Vaughan added 11 points, Amber Williams had 10 points, and Pollie Simpson 6 points for the Lady Leopards..

Kaylee Sticker led Dawson County with 15 points. Sophia D'Oliveira had 9 and Marlie Townley 8 for the Lady Tigers.



The Lady Wolves beat their third Class 7A team so far on the young season behind another stellar defensive showing Saturday at The Wesleyan Showcase.

Buford is yielding just 45 points a game and moved to a perfect 6-0 on the season.

Tate Walters poured in 18 points to lead the Lady Wolves. Christina Reid added 12 points for Bufod.

The Lady Wolves next will take on Northview in the Buford Showcase on Dec. 8 at The Buford Arena.
