(UPDATE) Boys basketball: Lakeview takes 3rd at Raider Classic; Spartans get a win

COAL MOUNTAIN — Class A No. 9-ranked Lakeview Academy held off host North Forsyth 57-54 Tuesday night in the third-place game of the Keller Williams Raider Classic at North Forsyth High School.

Blake McIntyre scored a game-high 33 points and tied Drew Cottrell’s school record with 9 3-pointers on the night. Adam Cottrell recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Lions (2-1).

FLOWERY BRANCH 46

The Spartans had four players in double figures in taking a win over the Falcons at the East Jackson Thanksgiving Tournament.

Noah Edmondson poured in 23 points to pace West Hall. Sawyer Passmore had 17 points, Quincy Holcomb added 14 points and Devon Williams 11 points for the Spartans. 

 

CUMBERLAND 75
DAWSON COUNTY 64

Cumberland outscored the Tigers 41-26 in the second half to win the Tiger Tipoff Classic 75-64 Tuesday in Dawsonville.

The Tigers led at halftime 28-24, but Cumberland's Myson Lowe hit 22 of his 24 points in the second half to shut the door. 

Luke Chism turned in a double-double performance, scoring 25 points and hauling in 10 rebounds. The senior also dished out 5 assists.

Jasper Gibson chipped in 11 points. Campbell Reed had 10 points and 5 boards. Eli Burruss hit for 9 points and 7 rebounds. Mason Barnes netted 5 points, and Tate Adkins had 4 points.

 

CAMBRIDGE 99
JEFFERSON 89

Tryston Norman scored 16 points and Donsha Gaither had 15 in the Jefferson Dragons 99-89 loss to Cambridge in a tournament Tuesday at Jefferson.

Jacob Radaker added 13 points, Daniel Parker had 12 and Darryl Clark scored 10 points.

 

UNION COUNTY  63
TOWNS COUNTY 62 

Sawyer Drake drew a foul with 1.7 seconds to go and hit a foul shot to give Union County the 63-62 win over Towns County Tuesday in Blairsville.

Drake finished the night with 14 points. UC survived a frantic 13-2 run over the final two minutes-and-change.

Pierson Allison led the Panthers with 29 points, 27 of them behind the 3-point arc.

Union held off a 13-2 run by the Indians in the final two minutes of play.

Kolby Moss led the Indians with 21 points, including a 3-pointer and four foul shots down the stretch to tie the game twice in final 60 seconds of play. Will Travis scored 20 points.
