Malice murder charge added in Buford shooting case

A woman from Buford accused of shooting and killing her husband is now facing a malice murder charge in the investigation.

Christy Love-Bullock, 39, was originally charged with felony murder and aggravated assault, but an indictment handed down Nov. 15 added the malice murder charge, according to a report in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

In the early morning hours of Aug. 25, Love-Bullock's husband, Montez Love-Bullock, then 39, was found shot to death outside a home on Apple Grove Road, according to initial reports from the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Police said the couple were having an argument that night, at which point Montez attempted to leave and Christy alleged started shooting. A neighbor discovered Montez's body in the road around 1 a.m.

Malice murder indicates a belief that the suspect intentionally killed a victim, without any provocation, the newspaper said, while felony murder simply means the suspect killed another person while committing a separate crime, in this case aggravated assault.
