COAL MOUNTAIN — Lakeview Academy opened its season with a thrilling 56-55 win over Class 5A No. 8 Starr's Mill Saturday in the Keller Williams Raider Classic at North Forsyth High School.
Starr's Mill led most of the way in the first half leading 15-11 after the first quarter and 27-23 at halftime. But the Lions outscored the Pathers 12-5 in the third quarter to grab the lead. Lakeview maintained its lead the rest of the way leading by four when the Panthers hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer for the final score.
Blake McIntyre poured in 22 points to go with 6 rebounds and 3 steals to lead the Lions (1-0). Adam Cottrell added 13 points and 5 rebounds and Holden Cooper had 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals for Lakeview. KJ Millwood chipped in with 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
Lakeview next will take on Drew Charter School at 5 p.m. Monday in the semifinals of the Keller Williams Raider Classic.

Chestatee rallied from a 10-point deficit with four minutes left to snag its second come-from-behind win beat Saturday in a tournament at Jackson County.
The War Eagles (3-1) trailed 50-43 heading into the fourth quarter but outscored the Red Devils 26-10 over the final eight minutes. Chestatee trailed most of the game -- 14-10 at the end of the first quarter and 23-22 at halftime -- before staging the lare rally.
It was the second win of the season for Chestatee when trailing in the fourth quarter.
Cam Gwynn poured in 29 points, including hitting seven 3-pointers and going 8 of 9 from the foul line, to lead Chestatee. Ethan Popham added 14 points and Jonah Bull had 9 for the War Eagles.
Chestatee is off until November 27.

Daniel Parker scored 14 and Tryson Norman had 11 to lead the Dragons past Georgia Walton Academy 74-38 Friday night in a tournament at Jefferson.
Owen Parker chipped in 10 points.
The Dragons will play again on Monday.
