Warehouse fire in Dawson County Tuesday contained, extinguished

Dawson County Fire crews were able to contain and extinguish a fire quickly at a warehouse Tuesday night.

The fire at 55 Impulse Industrial Drive did not spread and was contained to a small area. Fire and Emergency Services Director Danny Thompson said they responded shortly after 8:30 p.m.

"Once they got inside, they found a dust collector unit that was heavily involved in fire. The fire was brought under control in about 20 to 30 minutes," said Thompson.

Crews remained on scene for about two hours clearing smoke out of the building. Thompson said the fire damage was contained mostly to the room with the dust collector, and there was some smoke and water damage throughout.

"We did have one patient that was treated and released on the scene, but no other patients and no injuries to the fire services personnel," said Thompson.

Thompson said they believe the fire was accidental and possibly mechanical, however the cause is still under investigation.

The warehouse is located off of G.W. Taffar Road.
