The Jacobs Media family of stations will continue its playoff push with northeast Georgia teams offering up two big second round matchups on Friday night.
Jacobs Media will have a pair games on air on Friday on WDUN AM 550 and WDUN FM 102.9. You can begin your playoff coverage with the Tailgate Show with Caleb Hutchins at 6 p.m. on each station.
On WDUN AM 550, perennial playoff power Buford will play host to Kell out of Marietta in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs. The Wolves (9-2) whipped Miller Grove 35-14 last week behind the power run game of Derrian Brown. Buford is 18-0 in second round games since 2000. Meanwhile, the Longhorns (9-2) hammered Carver-Atlanta last week, 48-8. Both defenses, however, are in the top 10 in Class 5A so expect a hard-hitting affair.
And, on WDUN FM 102.9, North Hall heads back out on the road, this time to No. 2 Cedar Grove in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs. The Trojans (9-2) were dominant last week in a 41-6 rout of Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe. Cedar Grove (10-1) demolished Hart County 49-0 at home. It will be a tremendous clash on both sides of the ball. The Trojans are No. 4 in offense in Class 3A averaging 42.9 points a game while the Saints have been anything but on defense in 2018 allowing a classification-low 77 points (7.0) The Trojans are fourth in points allowed (107, 9.7 ppg) while Cedar Grove is second in offense scoring 44.6 ppg.
