Cooper soundly defeats challenger to retain seat on Hall County Commission

Kathy Cooper, a businesswoman first elected to the Hall County Commission in 2014, will continue to represent District 1 on the board following a victory at the ballot box on Tuesday.

Cooper won 80.1-percent of the vote to challenger Michael W. Parker's 19.9-percent. Cooper is a Republican; Parker is a Democrat.

District 1 encompasses the Flowery Branch and most of the South Hall area.
