Is life too loud in Lawrenceville?

A proposed noise ordinance in Lawrenceville could make it illegal to play drums, honk your horn, and would even make it illegal for birds to chirp too loudly for too long based on the intention of the noise maker.

The ordinance would prohibited noises if found to be, "unusually loud which disturbs the peace and quiet of any neighborhood or which causes discomfort to any reasonable person of normal sensitivity:.

Other items listed include noise from car repairs, exhaust from combustible engines, construction during certain hours, and fireworks other than a few holiday exceptions.

City leaders will vote on the changes during their next regular meeting November 5th.
