Delta: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

ATLANTA (AP) _ Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL) on Thursday reported third-quarter earnings of $1.31 billion.

On a per-share basis, the Atlanta-based company said it had profit of $1.91. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were $1.80 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.74 per share.

The airline posted revenue of $11.95 billion in the period, missing Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $11.96 billion.

Delta shares have declined 11 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has increased 4 percent. The stock has fallen roughly 6 percent in the last 12 months.
