International Credit Union Day Exclusively Sponsored by Harland Clarke

By The Associated Press

SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 9, 2018--Harland Clarke®, a leading provider of omni-channel, member engagement solutions, announced today its proud support of credit unions around the world as the exclusive sponsor of International Credit Union Day. This year marks the 70 th anniversary of this annual event, being celebrated on October 18 th and hosted by Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and World Council of Credit Unions to commemorate the achievements of the credit union movement.

With a nod to its platinum anniversary and the notion that credit unions make platinum-lined differences in the lives of their members, the day’s theme is “Find Your Platinum Lining in Credit Unions.” Marked by a day of festivities, International Credit Union Day offers credit unions worldwide a platform to remind their members and spread the word among local communities about what it means to be part of a credit union and what differentiates credit unions from other financial partners.

“With our rich history of serving financial institutions for the last 140 years, we are thrilled to support International Credit Union Day again this year, bringing awareness to its significance and that of the credit union philosophy,” said Jana Schmidt, President, Harland Clarke. “The loyalty credit unions have for their members mirrors our own commitment to helping credit unions thrive by creating meaningful engagement with those members how, when and where it matters.”

The support of Harland Clarke provides credit unions access to a variety of resources from CUNA, including sample communications, a social media toolkit, design templates, customizable promotional items, multimedia, and celebration tips and ideas to make the most of International Credit Union Day across their locations. These tools will help encourage engagement among existing and prospective members, as well as credit union staff.

“International Credit Union Day shines a light on the principles that guide credit unions and the value they deliver to consumers,” said Jim Nussle, President & CEO, Credit Union National Association. “We are so pleased to have Harland Clarke’s continued support of this worldwide event to help credit unions promote the movement and amplify their own celebration efforts.”
