Hall County authorities said a woman who fell into the lake in south Hall County early Friday morning died later in the afternoon.
Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman Derreck Booth said Agne Krutules, 40, apparently fell into the waters of Lake Lanier at Aqualand Marina shortly before 2 a.m. Friday morning while the man she had spent the evening with was talking to an Uber driver.
When emergency crews arrived, the man was holding the woman's head above the water, and first responders started CPR before taking her to the hospital.
He said alcohol might have been a contributing factor to the woman's fall and investigators believe she may have been in the water 6 minutes before receiving any assistance from the man.
She later died at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
