AT&T offers in-stadium fans innovative ways to enjoy CFP at The Benz

ATLANTA — On Monday, thousands of college football fans will pour into in Mercedes-Benz Stadium ready to watch Alabama take on Georgia in the College Football Playoff National Championship.

AT&T is giving fans a way to make things easier to share all the thrills of the big game with friends and family right from their fingertips.

The new Mercedes-Benz Stadium features a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) with over 725 antennas and 1,450 remote amplifiers installed throughout the stadium to evenly distribute strong cellular coverage. This “future ready” DAS utilizes the most LTE capacity available on any AT&T DAS in the state of Georgia at this time. Since fans will continue to use an increasing amount of mobile data at the stadium every year, AT&T is responding to that future data demand by installing the most LTE capacity available on the DAS at the get-go, it reduces the need their our engineers to go back in and upgrade the DAS every couple of years.

Fans will also have access to fast, free Wi-Fi serving the stadium. AT&T touts that it may be the fastest dedicated internet connection delivered in any stadium environment. The stadium is also home to The AT&T Perch, a special interactive area dedicated to the fans.

AT&T also has made some temporary upgrades to boost its wireless coverage in the Atlanta area. In 2018 AT&T will deploy 1 COW (Cell on Wheels) and 3 COLTs (Cell on Light Trucks). The COW will be located at Falcons Landing and the COLT locations will include MARTA Vine city, Loews Atlanta Hotel, and Glenn Hotel.
