Animal Control confirms 9th rabies case in Hall County

Nine rabies cases have been confirmed in Hall County this year, with the most recent happening in the East Hall area.

Hall County Animal Control learned Thursday that a raccoon that came in contact with a dog in Gillsville was rabid.

The interaction happened in the 4900 block of Bluffington Road. Positive alert signs have been posted in the area.

Animal owners are encouraged to vaccinate their domesticated pets for rabies. Vaccines are available at the Hall County Animal Shelter for $10 Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 1688 Barber Rd, Gainesville.
