HARTWELL — One driver lost his life and the other was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Hart County Thursday night.
The wreck happened on Cokesbury Highway and involved two pickup trucks, according to Trooper Ray of Georgia State Patrol Post 52 in Hartwell.
“The at-fault vehicle was traveling down Cokesbury Highway from Ga. 181, southbound,” Ray said. “The second vehicle was traveling north on Cokesbury Highway. The at-fault vehicle negotiated a curve, crossed over the centerline and it was a head-on collision in vehicle 2’s lane of travel.”
One driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was taken to AnMed in Anderson, S.C., for treatment of injuries.
No further details are being released during the ongoing investigation, and pending notification of family members.
