UPDATE: Two killed in Cleveland Highway wreck at Quillian's Corner

A lunch-hour crash on Cleveland Highway (Hwy 11/US Hwy 129) in North Hall County Friday killed two people and injured two others, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Cpl. Luke E. Mize of Georgia State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville said the fatal crash involved three vehicles and occurred just after 12 p.m.

In an email statement, Mize said a Honda Fit was traveling northbound on Cleveland Highway just north of Quillian's Corner when it crossed the center line and traveled into the southbound lane. The Honda hit a Toyota 4 Runner that was traveling southbound in the same area.

A third vehicle - a Cadillac Escalade - that was traveling northbound behind the Honda also was involved in the accident. Mize said when the Honda hit the Toyota, that caused the Toyota to rotate into the northbound lanes of traffic, where it collided with the Cadillac. The impact forced the Cadillac off the road, where it struck a tree.

Mize said both occupants of the Honda Fit were killed.

He identified the victims as Christine Washington, 51, of Gainesville and Cristobal Cruz Sanchez, 66, of Gainesville. He said Washington was driving the vehicle and Sanchez was the passenger.

The driver of the Toyota was Osee Samedi, 42, of Lawrenceville.  Mize said Samedi was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Cadillac was identified as Denise Wilkinson, 64 of Cleveland. Wilkinson also was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Mize said the investigation into the fatal accident is ongoing.
