Two local giving organizations recognized in wake of Irma

Georgia/Florida Weather Spotters has named two area ministries Best Places to Help People in the region with needs in the wake of Tropical Storm Irma. The two are Caring Hands Ministries for monetary donations and One to Another Thrift Shop for the best place to give clothing.

Caring Hands Ministries of Cleveland has been helping people in Northeast Georgia with emergency needs since 1995. The ministry provides emergency help with food, diapers, detergent, homelessness prevention and home reestablishment, among a number of other services.

One to Another Hope Center Thrift Store is operated by Concord Baptist Church in Clermont.  All items in the store are free. One to Another Hope Center is located on Highway 129 in Clermont one building south of Papa's Pizza.

According to Ann Fleming with Caring Hands Ministries, the organizations made the best list based on inquiries to Georgia Florida Weather spotters by people looking for a safe way to lend a helping hand.
