Hall County Middle Schools open for a meal, shower through Friday for Irma victims

The Hall County School District is opening the doors of the six middle schools beginning Thursday afternoon and into Friday for anyone who needs a meal and a place to get cleaned up following the impact of Tropical Storm Irma.

According to an email from Hall County Schools Superintendent Will Schofield, the meals are free and anyone who brings their own towel and soap may make use of the men's and women's showers.

"Please come and enjoy some fellowship and the spirit of community," Schofield said in the email. First responders, road crews and power crews are also invited.

The schools will be open from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, and again on Friday from 8-10 a.m. for breakfast and 2-5 p.m. for an afternoon meal.
