Less than a week away, Suwanee Fest still in need of volunteers

Suwanee Fest officials say, less than a week before the event, they're still in need of volunteers for a variety of roles on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Roles include vendor setup helpers on Friday afternoon, event and parade staff on Saturday and break-down crews Sunday, said Amy Doherty, Suwanee events and outreach manager.

One particular area of need is the Family Fun Zone, an area for children that is free and open to the public.

"We need those volunteers to help us there so we can move kids through quickly, so they can go on and do some other fun things at the festival," said Doherty.

Anyone interested in volunteering can sign up here. Applicants under the age of 18 will need a parent's permission in order to volunteer.

Volunteers will get a free Suwanee Fest t-shirt, Doherty said.

"Everybody loves a good Suwanee Fest t-shirt, and the color of our shirt this year is a very pretty military green. So it's a nice, fun fall color," said Doherty.
