Bulldoggs off to best start since 2007

WALNUT GROVE — Senior quarterback Brock Landis threw five touchdown passes to five different receivers to lead Winder-Barrow to a 47-22 thumping of Walnut Grove Friday night on the road.

Landis connected on scoring passes to Lamonta Mack, Trace Wells, Jaidon Turner, Tyreek Perkins, and Hunter Shipp as the Bulldoggs (2-0) built a 47-9 lead early in the fourth quarter. He finished 17-of-24 for 276 yards passing. He had TD passes of 35, 26, 19, 12 and 4-yards on the night.

Turner led the way with 6 receptions for 92 yards, including the 35-yard TD pass from Landis. Wells had 3 catches for 71 yards (23.6 yards per catch) for Winder-Barrow.

Winder-Barrow also got touchdown runs from Sterling Sumpter and Aiden Smith.

The Warriors (0-1) scored a par of late touchdowns against the Bulldoggs' reserves.

Peige Moore had two interceptions for Winder t pace the defense. Josh Sims had a blocked punt to spark the special teams.

Th 2-0 start is the first for Winder-Barrow since the 2007 season. The Bulldoggs will play host to Northview next week with a chance to go 3-0 for the frst since 2007, when they began the season 4-0.
