UPDATED: Volleyball roundup: Branch, North Hall, Johnson, East Hall all take sweeps

GAINESVILLE — The North Hall girls volleyball team swept a tri-match at Lakeview Academy on Tuesday night.

The Lady Trojans held of host Lakeview Academy 26-24, 25-22 in a tight match then knocked off North Oconee 25-22 and 25-18 in the second match.

Lily Paschall paced North Hall with 46 assists, 6 aces, 3 kills, and 13 digs in the two matchs. Melissa DeVerter had 18 kills, 7 blocks, and 6 digs, Lena Strickland had 33 digs, 1 kill and 1 assist, and Autumn Tucker had 23 kills and 11 digs for the Lady Trojans.

Maci Gillespie had 15 digs , Caroline Brady had 8 kills, 13 digs, and 1 block, Savannah Miller had 9 kills and 1 block, and Madison Brock had 4 kills, 1 ace, and 10 digs for North Hall.

The Lady Trojans (9-4) next will travel to Forsyth Central on Thursday.

BRANCH GETS ROAD SWEEP

Flowery Branch improved to 7-1 on the season after whipping both Chestatee and Forsyth Central Tuesday at the Chestatee gym. 

The Lady Falcons beat the Lady Bulldogs 25-10, 25-19 and then topped the Lady War Eagles 25-8, 25-21. 

Sophomore outside hitter, Katie Williams had a big night recording 15 kills, 6 aces and 2 blocks in the pair of matches. Senior middle blocker Anna Marshall had 5 kills, 2 assists, 1 solo block, and 2 block assists for the Lady Falcons.

Junior outside hitter Ashley Scott added 4 kills and an ace and senior libero Ellie Luciani had 17 digs, 1 kill, and 1 assist for Flowery Branch.

The Lady Falcons next will travel to Collins Hill on Thursday taking on the Lady Eagles and Brookwood in a non-region tri-match.

JOHNSON SWEEPS AT HOME

The Lady Knights swept a pair of tough non-area matches Tuesday. 

Johnson knocked off Winder Barrow 25-18, 25-23 and then rallied from a set down to beat Jackson County 22-25, 25-20, 25-16.

Grace Eidson had 15 kills, 31 assists, and 17 digs to lead Johnson. Emma Hernandez added 8 aces, 18 kills, and 3 blocks, Julia Blowers had 3 aces and 17 digs, and Alivia Farley had 8 kills, 14 assists, and 14 digs for the Lady Knights.

Kellie Tran contributed with 4 kills and 5 blocks and Emily Pena had 13 digs.

The Lady Knights evened the record at 4-4 with the two victories. They next will travel to Gainesville on Thursday to take on the Lady Red Elephants and Lakeview Academy.

RUCKER LEADS LADY VIKINGS TO ROAD SWEEP

East Hall ran its record to 10-4 by defeating Stephens County (25-18, 25-17) and Rabun County (25-20, 26-24) Tuesday night at Stephens County.

Niyah Rucker had 15 points scored on serve with 5 aces, 21 kills, 13 digs and 3 blocks to lead the Lady Vikings. Savannah Thellman had 7 points scored on serve with 4 aces, 4 kills, 3 digs and 32 assists, Holly Poole added 6 points scored on serve with 4 aces, 2 assists, 13 digs and 9 kills, and Summer Lindsey had 15 points scored on serve with 3 aces, 2 assists and 27 digs for East Hall.

Tessa Rider scored 1 point on serve with 1 ace, 18 digs and 8 kills, Janelly Lara scored 5 points scored on serve with 3 aces and 6 digs, Macy Thomas had 4 kills, 3 blocks, 1 assist and 1 dig, and Rachel McGee had 4 points scored on serve with 3 aces and 3 kills.

The Lady Vikings next will travel to Madison County on Thursday to take on the host Red Raiders and Morgan County in a tri-match.
