HIAWASSEE — Towns County football got its 2017 season off to a strong start on Friday, notching a 38-21 defeat of Hayesville, N.C., in Hiawassee.
Zach Davenport led the Indians (1-0) with 13 rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns, while Cole Ledford added 15 carries for 103 yds and a score.
Logan Cowart also added a nine-yar touchdown run.
Towns County travels to George Walton Academy to begin Region 8-A play next week.
