Poole posts Stock V8 win at Winder-Barrow Speedway

By Brandon Reed Reporter

Ronnie Poole raced to the lead in Saturday nights Stock V8 feature for the Roger Cooper Memorial Race at Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway, and went on to score the victory in a caution filled race.

Poole took the initial lead on the drop of the green, but a quick caution set up a second attempt at the start.

Zach Brown took the lead on the second attempted start, and would hold the point for the first lap. On lap two, Poole got a run on the outside off turn four, moving alongside as they two raced down the frontstretch.

After racing side-by-side for almost a full lap, Poole finally cleared Brown and took the lead at the flagstand.

On lap 4, the race was slowed by caution when the cars of Dwayne McCannon and Tim Corbin tangled on the backstretch.

On the restart, Poole moved back to the lead with Mark Chancey in tow. The action was broken up again on lap seven, when Trey Pilgrim spung in turn two, gathering up three other cars in the melee.

Back under green, Poole moved back to the lead, and would set the pace through nine more cautions en route to the victory and a $1,437 payday.

Matt Roberts finished in second, wit Brown in third, Chancey in fourth and Stephen House in fifth.

In other action, Ken Lampp held off Jeff Lampp to win the Limited Late Model feature. Shawn Tullis finished in third, with Tyler Canup in fourth and John Anderson in fifth.

Aaron Criswell was the winner in the Modified Street feature. Michael Lewis came home in second, with Arti Ridgeway in third, Kevin Shaw in fourth and Jordan Poole in fifth.

Shawn Tullis scored the victory in the Hobby feature, with Chad Stinchcomb, Jerome Hanson, Glen Jackson and Andy Barton rounded out the top five.

Justin Taylor came away with the win in the Stock 4A feature, followed by Kyle Braswell in second, Shane Peppers in third, Allen Cantrell in fourth and Robert Kennedy in fifth.

Coty Sanders took the win in the Stock 4B feature, with James Robinson second, Cody Peppers third, Grant Roberts fourth and Franklin Sargent fifth.
