Hall authorities search for suspect(s) in shooting investigation

By Bryan Pirkle Reporter

The Hall County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that took place Wednesday afternoon in the Gainesville area.

The shooting took place around 5:00 on Pittman Street off Highland Terrace when, according to Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware, an unnamed male victim, 20, got into an altercation with the occupant(s) of a gray Kia Soul.

"The victim was shot in the upper thigh area," Ware explained. "The victim was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center...in critical condition."

The victim was rushed into surgery, and their condition was unknown at the time of publication.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene following the shooting, and authorities are working to identify the person or persons who were inside at the time the crime occurred.

"Anyone with information regarding the incident or the whereabouts of the described vehicle is encouraged to call Hall County Central Communications at 911 or 770-536-8812," Ware continued.

The investigation surrounding the events of the shooting is ongoing.
