Woman, 18, allegedly involved in Gainesville gas station robbery

An 18-year-old woman was booked into the Hall County Jail Wednesday, charged in an April robbery that targeted a gas station in Gainesville.

Chelsea Alexsis Manders is being held on an armed robbery charge.  Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said the charge relates to the robbery of the Murphy Express station on Shallowford Road.

"During the course of the investigation it was determined that Chelsea Manders was a know party to this armed robbery.  As far as what her role was for the armed robbery, I'm not certain.  It may have been believed that she was possibly what we would consider the getaway driver," Holbrook said.

The incident happened around 2:08 a.m. Saturday, April, 22 at the business at 377 Shallowford Road.

The month of the crime, police said the robbers used a gun to steal cash, beer and cigarettes from the store.  They also took a cell phone from the clerk, officers said at the time.

Manders is the fourth arrest in the case.  Three men also face armed robbery charges.

"We believe that we have the individuals responsible for this armed robbery in custody," Holbrook said.  "Sadly these individuals range from 20-years-old down to 18-years-old, simply just what we consider teenagers out committing some fairly heinous crimes and using weapons."

The male suspects are identified as Quillan Leshun Samuels, 18, Matthew Rene Thigpen, 19, and Michael Marqeuz Peoples, 20, according to a police incident report.

The three were arrested in May and remain in jail.
