Hall drug agents seize $41k in drugs at campsite

A Hoschton man and a Gainesville woman were behind bars Wednesday after authorities found more than $41,000 worth of drugs in their camper at Lake Lanier Islands.

Jason Lee Watson, 40, and Meagan Victoria Feaster, 26, each face 16 charges, according to Hall County MANS Lt. Don Scalia.

"They had pulled into a campsite down there (Islands).  They had not registered as guests of the facility, but they were in like a tow behind camper with a pickup truck," Scalia said.

Authorities believe the two had been at the site for no longer than a week.

"That's our understanding is they're boyfriend/girlfriend.  We don't know of any kind of other relationship than that," Scalia said.

He said the two, previously known to investigators , were arrested Tuesday with help from the Georgia National Guard Counterdrug Task Force.

The bulk of the confiscated narcotics included about 30.5 grams or over an ounce of heroin and over 12 ounces of methamphetamine.  Authorities also found what Scalia described as 2 units of LSD, 1 MDMA or ecstasy pill, 8 grams of marijuana and an assortment of 94 other pills.

Authorities also seized $5,600 cash and a handgun in the search.

Scalia said Watson and Feaster are both charged with trafficking heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, trafficking methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

Each is also charged with possession with the intent to distribute LSD, MDMA, Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Alprazolam, Suboxone, Clonazepam, Methadone, Amphetamine and Phentermine.

Additional charges include misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Scalia said no further arrests or charges in the case are expected.
