An Auburn man is facing charges of felony murder and animal cruelty for allegedly shooting and killing his neighbor and his neighbor's dog.

Larry Bates, 46, is accused of shooting the man and dog following a dispute early Sunday morning, according to a report in the Gwinnett Daily Post.

It happened shortly after 1 a.m. on Crest Pointe Drive, Auburn Police Lt. Chris Hodge told the newspaper.
