North Georgia celebrates Independence Day with fireworks, parades and other festivities

LAKE LANIER ISLANDS FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND
 
Lake Lanier Islands begins its Fourth of July celebration early, kicking off five days worth of activities on Friday, June 30.  Beginning on Saturday, July 1 through Tuesday, July 4, the Islands will host live music on the Sunset Cove Stage and nightly fireworks displays. Lanier Islands opens at 10 a.m. each day.

BRASELTON INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
 
The City of Braselton will hold its Independence Day celebration beginning with the third Jacob Flood Run/Walk at 10 a.m. The Fly Betty Band will perform on the Town Green from 5-10 p.m., and a parade along Ga. 53 will begin at 6 p.m. Fireworks above town hall will be shot at dusk.
 
DAHLONEGA'S FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION
 
A day jam-packed with patriotic fun begins with the 6th Annual Firecracker 5K at 8 a.m. After that, enjoy an opening patriotic ceremony at Hancock Park, a Fourth of July parade, an American Marketplace, a Classic Car Show and of course, traditional fireworks when the sun goes down.
 
 
 
DEMOREST GLORIOUS FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION
 
The City of Demorest will hold its annual Glorious Fourth of July Celebration, beginning with a 5k run at 6:30 a.m., opening ceremony at 10:30 a.m., parade at 11 a.m., concerts throughout the day featuring artists like The Maggie Valley Band and The Whispering Gypsies, a concert in the park featuring The John King Band at 8:30 p.m. and a fireworks show visible only from downtown Demorest/Demorest Springs Park area at 9:30 p.m.
 
FIREWORKS IN ALPINE HELEN
 
Alpine Helen will have its annual fireworks display at dusk (roughly 9:30 p.m.) behind the Alpine Village Shoppes and Helen Welcome Center. Free admission.
 
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT LAUREL PARK ON LAKE LANIER
 
The Paul E. Bolding Post 7 of The American Legion presents the 54th Annual Independence Day Celebration on the shores of Lake Lanier in Gainesville. Gates to Laurel Park, located at 3100 Old Cleveland Road, open at 9 a.m. Enjoy a day full of music, kids rides, concessions, music and crafts. Fireworks take place at dusk. Entry fee is $10 per car. Rain date: July 8.
 
MALL OF GEORGIA 15TH ANNIVERSARY STAR SPANGLED EVENT

Grab your red, white and blue and get ready to “Ooh!” and “Aah!” this Fourth of July with Mall of Georgia’s 15th Annual Star Spangled Fourth event! Presented by Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, the mall’s Independence Day event is offering a full day of fun activities for the entire family including children’s rides and inflatables, live music, food and beverage concessions and the largest fireworks display in the county!
