Suwanee to hold final public hearing, adopt budget next Tuesday

A final public hearing is planned for next Tuesday, June 27, before the regularly scheduled meeting of the Suwanee City Council to discuss the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

The budget's projected millage rate, which will be officially adopted in August, would stay the same as Fiscal Year 2017 at 4.93 mills, according to Marty Allen, city manager.

"The current budget is a balanced budget, at about $12.9 million, and it assumes the millage rate would stay the same," said Allen.

"Ultimately the city council will determine (the millage rate) during the millage rate adoption (process)."

Council's next voting session is June 27 at 6 p.m. inside the council chambers, located on the second floor of Suwanee City Hall.
