Banks County seeking bank robbery suspect

Banks County officials are seeking the Public's help locating a bank robbery suspect.

"We have just received a report of an armed robbery that just occurred at Northeast Georgia Bank involving a white female who is approximately 5-foot-4, petite build with blonde hair, possibly in her early to mid-30s wearing brown shorts and a white T-shirt," said Sheriff's Lt. Carissa McFaddin.

"She is believed to be driving a greyish/blue 2006 or 2007 model Dodge Caravan with a New York license plate on the front end of the vehicle," McFaddin said. "She fled the parking lot of Days Inn."

The woman was armed with a firearm in a bag, possibly a shotgun, McFaddin said.

The woman initially had a black bandana on her head, but it was removed when she left the bank, McFaddin said.

The incident happened about 10:30 a.m. No injuries were reported.

Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to dial 9-1-1 immediately.

The woman is considered armed and dangerous.

A lookout has been issued to all surrounding counties, as well as those along the Interstate 85 corridor in South Carolina.
