Oakwood Police Friday obtained warrants for an 84-year-old Oakwood man in connection with an alleged hit-and run traffic collision.
Police Sgt. Danny Sridej said the warrants for Hubert Delong, Jr. are for alleged felony hit-and-run and failure to yield right-of-way. Officers identified Delong as the possible at-fault driver earlier this week, Sridej told AccessWDUN on Wednesday.
A 71-year-old Gainesville man suffered serious injuries in the May 31 afternoon crash on Thurmond Tanner Road near Mundy Mill Road.
Sridej said tips from the public led officers to Delong. He was expected to turn himself in over the weekend, according to Sridej.
