Flowery Branch man charged with burglary, burglary attempts

A Flowery Branch man remains in the Hall County jail Wednesday following his arrest Saturday for burglary and other charges.

According to Hall County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware, Frantz Merino Jean, 28, was identified by one of the victims during an attempted burglary sometime between May 22 and May 26.

"In one case he was actually confronted by the homeowner... the victim actually knew Jean," said Ware. "He was able to give law enforcement, our investigators Jean's name and identity, which led to us being able to put a name to the suspect."

Jean was eventually surrendered by a bondsman. "He was on bond for several entering autos, which he was charged and released in February of this year," Ware said.

Ware said Jean also pawned some of the stolen items at a local pawn shop. Some of those items have been recovered but Ware said investigators are continuing to recover the items.

Jean faces three county of burglary in the first degree, attempted burglar, two felony counts of criminal attempt to commit a crime, theft by deception and surrendered by a bondsman.
