*The North Georgia Technical College Foundation has awarded two Blairsville Scottish Festival Scholarships for Summer Semester to students attending the Blairsville Campus. The funds were donated by the Festival Committee in honor of Jim and Linda McAfee as part of their community outreach activities. The 14th Annual Festival will be held June 9-11, at Meeks Park with thousands of visitors enjoying the beauty and hospitality of the Blairsville area.

*At the Georgia State Society of Medical Assistants conference, the Hall County Chapter received two first place awards.  The Chapter won first place for the greatest percentage increase of Certified Medical Assistants in Georgia, and another first place for the greatest percentage of Certified Medical Assistants in Georgia. Also, the Chapter was selected to host the 2018 Georgia State Society of Medical Assistants Conference.

*Tanger Outlets in Commerce recently announced that five schools, including Sugar Hill Elementary in Hall County, are this year’s recipients of a TangerKIDS Grant.  The program is designed to award grant money to local schools in the communities where Tanger Outlet Centers are located. Other  local schools receiving TangerKIDS Grants this year include Howard B. Stroud Elementary in Athens-Clarke County and Jefferson Elementary, Gum Springs Elementary and Maysville Elementary in Jackson County.
