Open house planned Tuesday to discuss widening of U.S. 129 in Hall

A public open house is planned for Tuesday at the North Hall Community Center to discuss the widening of U.S. 129/Ga. 11, and the detour routes associated with the work.

It will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and residents will get a chance to share ideas and concerns, and get a glimpse of the project displays and detour maps, according to Georgia Department of Transportation Spokeswoman Katie Strickland.

U.S. 129 will be widened from two to four lanes, with a 20-foot median, across a 5.4-mile stretch from Limestone Parkway to Nopone Road, said Strickland. Two other, separate projects will widen the bridges along the roadway within the project limits.

GDOT representatives will also be on hand at the open house to discuss the plans.
