Dahlonega woman charged in shooting death of husband

By B.J. Williams
The Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Dahlonega woman and charged her with murder and aggravated assault in the death of her husband on Sunday night.

Sheriff's Lt. Chris Pfrogner said 57-year-old Robin Black was officially charged for the murder of 59-year-old Larry Curtis Black on Monday.

"She's currently at our detention center and the judge did not set a bond on those two charges," Pfrogner said in a telephone interview.

Pfrogner said the investigation unfolded Sunday when authorities were called to a residence on Horton Road just after 8:30 p.m. and found Larry Black dead from a gunshot wound. He said Robin Black was taken in for questioning that same night, but was not charged until the following day.

Pfrogner said he was unaware of any previous calls from the home indicating there might be problems between the suspect and the victim.
