Couple faces drug trafficking charges in Hall County

Hall County drug agents have arrested a 53-year-old Gainesville man and his 23-year-old girlfriend after they found a substantial amount of illegal drugs in a residence on Pine Circle Drive Wednesday.

Lt. Don Scalia with the Hall County Multi Agency Narcotics Squad said the street value of the drugs was more than $27,000.

"We found them in possession of approximately five ounces of heroin, just slightly more than five ounces of heroin.  It was packaged in three separate bags.  (They had) less than a gram of methamphetamine, seven alprazolam pills and about a gram of marijuana.  They also had two semi-automatic pistols," Scalia said.

Scalia identified the suspects as Gilbert Hill and Brittany Nicole Grizzle.  They're each charged with trafficking heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, possession of alprazolam, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Both suspects remained in the Hall County Jail Thursday morning.
