North Carolina woman arrested on drug charges in Dillard

Complaints to the management of a Dillard motel led to the arrest of an Asheville, N.C., woman on drug, theft and weapons charges Saturday.

Rabun County Sheriff’s Office, Dillard Police Department, Sky Valley Police Department and Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office executed a search warrant at Gateway Inn and Suites in Dillard, leading to the arrest of Keisha Le'shay Moore, 24, according to information released by the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office.

Numerous complaints to management of heavy traffic led to the search warrant, according to ARDEO Special Agent in Charge Mitchell Posey, who added officers located methamphetamine, a stolen handgun and scales in the hotel room. Estimated street value of the seized drugs is $300.

Moore is charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule IV narcotic (Clonazepam), and possession of drug-related objects.

“The arrest was a collaborative effort between Rabun County authorities and the management at Gateway Inn and Suites to rid Rabun County of illegal narcotics,” according to Posey.

Moore was booked in at the Rabun County Detention Center in Tiger.
