A Gainesville woman was arrested Sunday morning for a hit and run in East Hall County that left a woman dead.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Rachel Elizabeth Bond, 25, has been charged with vehicular homicide in the first degree, hit and run/leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident with injury, death or damage and failure to maintain lane. She is currently in the Hall County Jail.
Troopers said in an email that the vehicle - a 2010 Dodge Charger - has been located and is secure.
The incident happened along Gillsville Highway in East Hall County near Snare Road. Brenda Kaye Turpin, 41, was hit by a car and the impact threw her in to a ditch. She died at the scene.
