(VIDEO) Basketball: Area stars shine one last time in North Georgia All-Star Classic

GAINESVILLE — Some of the area's top senior basketball talent closed out their varsity careers on Saturday in the North Georgia All-Star Classic at the Gainesville High gym.

Standouts competed in a 3-point shootout and a slam dunk contest and, as well as a girls and boys contest in the sixth edition of the Classic.

Lakeview Academy's Hanna Grogan scored a game-high 20 points to lift her team to a 74-53 win, drilling five 3-pointers on the day. She was joined by Buford's Rachel Dobbs, who scored 12, and Loganville's Daijah Cousins, who added nine.

East Hall's Kylah Mize led the way for her team, putting up 16 points. North Hall's Taylor Anne Kelley added nine, and Gainesville's Taylor Hawks scored eight.

In the boys game, Flowery Branch's John Mills scored 14 points to lead his team to a 80-74 win. North Hall's Evan Easton also added 11 and West Hall's Xzavier Reid put up 10.

Lumpkin County's Zach Pulley paced the opposition, also scoring 14, while Stephens County's Nunu Walker added 10 and Jackson County's Christian Smith and Madison County's Trevon Daniel each chipped in with nine points.
