Woman charged with child molestation in Gainesville case

A 43-year-old woman remained in the Hall County Jail Thursday morning on a charge of child molestation related to a 13-year-old boy.

Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said investigators began talking to Evelyn Frawley after forensic interviews with the victim.  The alleged crime happened in January.

"Then began the investigative portion with her (Frawley) to which point warrants were obtained, and she was arrested here at the Gainesville Police Department," Holbrook said.

Holbrook said investigators don't know if the case involved a single incident or more.

"It's one of those cases where, you know, being 13, being in a sexual encounter, it is rather embarrassing, so many times we don't get the full story, but it's important that we get enough of it to make these types of charges," Holbrook said.

He said Frawley and the victim knew one another.  Frawley also faces a charge of misdemeanor public indecency.

Frawley was booked into the Hall County Jail on January 18, according to the Hall County Jail online inmate population list.

Thursday's Gainesville Police Department Daily Bulletin showed the arrest happened Wednesday.

"It appears that the investigator just did the arrest report to close out the case," Holbrook said in an email.
